Real rustic charm, comfortable, peaceful, beautiful surroundings, welcoming host.... Proper country retreat and great location for exploring Yorkshire dales. We hope to visit again.

The road to the hall is a single lane, but wasn't busy and as long as you are aware its not a problem, this is in the country after all. If anything it added to its rural charm.

Staff seemed to be great but not with me who is Asian. The general service was poor at best I walked past many staff who seemed to have just ignored me no pleasantries. For this location I would have expect 5* service. Reception staff very poor on directions I was just told Coventry is massive the place I was looking for could be anywhere. They could have easily looked on Google for me but no. Service in a Travelodge has been better. I would like to say some of the team had a bad day but it was a culture throughout.

The spa facilities and decor is nice. Breakfast is good.

Very noisy and more of a party hotel than a guest hotel. Nowhere for residents to go other than room which was pokey and looking at the ac unit. No residents lounge or chill areas. The functions clearly take priority. Music was very loud and went on late. The spa is lovely but children using it like a municipal pool spoiled the ambiance. Not as exclusive as I expected

The rooms could do with a bit of a revamp, bed was comfortable and room was reasonably clean. We were charged £20 for our breakfast (£10 per person) it definitely wasn’t worth that. We sat for 20 minutes before being offered tea/coffee granted they were very busy.

The woman was quite rude. The water in the shower didn’t drain and when we went to let the host know she complained and made it obvious she couldn’t be bothered. The room was covered in black mould also a lot of it was painted over. The taps where covered in a thick layer of it and it made me unwell. The room was filthy and genuinely looked like it has never been cleaned. There was human faeces on the walls, bogeys, blood ect. The toilet was dirty. I had come back to my room and the host had been through all of my things and all of my bags.
