  The staff are fantastic! I went for my birthday and was surprised with a complimentary room upgrade, Prosecco and desserts on arrival. They also decorated the room to make the trip extra special which was a lovely touch.

  I truly enjoyed the spa facilities and the food was great, the room and bathroom was clean to a high standard. Overall the hotel is lovely. Oh yes you never know what famous person you may see/ meet at breakfast.

  There was a delay with house keeping. We had to wait around 40 minutes or so for the room to be ready. A good gesture would have been to offer a free complimentry hot or cold drink. The toilet in our room seat/rim was super slender, and the toliet lid fell forward on my back quiet a few times. The toilet flush bitton was directly behind the toliet lid, not on top like all other toilets. When housekeeping refilled our room with water, it would have been nice to receive two mini packets of biscuits. It would have been even nicer to have had and extra blanket or pillow in the room.

  The hotel has been refurbished since l stayed last and the decor is really nice. I love the bar and restaurant area. The staff were very good and friendly. The rooms were lovely. Nice big bed.

  If m being picky the carpets in the room maybe a little old now. The shower is fine but if I'm picky maybe need updating to a modern shower head above you. I think what let it down was breakfast. The cooked breakfast seemed as if cheap ingredients were used regarding the bacon sausages scrambled eggs. The grilled tomatoes were even grilled. No fried eggs were there. The items weren't replenished quick enough. No black pudding no mushrooms. You couldn't come away thinking that was a great breakfast to be honest

  Breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold food.

  There was no lock on the inside of the door so had to wedge the handle with a chair. Being a single loan female traveller who was there for a family bereavement, I didn't get much sleep because of it. The plug in the bath leaked too so it didn't hold the water for a much needed bath.

  I booked this stay for my parents as a Christmas present and they did say that the hotel was okay. However, during their stay, when they were entering the lift, a steel panel from the side wall in the lift fell off and hit my dad on the head causing an injury. A cleaner saw this happen and rather than help him or ask if he was okay they just started putting the panel back on the wall. They then went to report it to the front desk and again no apologies were made by the staff. He was bleeding and has a cut on his head. This incident could have been a lot worse and it’s lucky it didn’t hit him in his eye.
