menu in the Pickled Pig restaurant could a bit more adventurous, it was very 'corporate'. Step up into the bathroom need some kind of notice and/or padded lintel would help, being 6foot+ I cracked my head on it a couple of times.

Some interactions with staff could have been improved - for example asking for a new set of dry towels proved to be challenging. The response when politely asking for a new set of dry towels was initially an unexpected no from a staff member as “we are a B & B” (???) and left us feeling rather flabbergasted. We don’t have a problem with reusing towels if there’s a way of drying them, but no heated towel rail meant this was not possible. Little things like this can mar an otherwise pleasant stay.

I think in all the rooms I have stayed, only one had somewhere in the shower to put your soap and stuff. This needs to be in all showers as I don't like to put shower gels I bring on the floor. A recess shelf is ideal

The description of the safari tent is newly renovated, it certainly isn't, our experience is below. The tent smelt mouldy and had mildew, not only over the tent fabric itself but also on the furnishings as you can see from the broken lamp on the photos, covered with mould spores. We knew Matt had boarded/covered the broken tent opening, as the previous people had broken it and Matt had apologised when we arrived, which we accepted, however, what we didn't accept was an absolutely filthy place to spend 2 nights. The beer can outside, the broken glass candle, half it on the floor, half on the table, someone had obviously picked it up and not cleaned up The lights.. they are so dim you are unable to see hardly anything, the toilet light didn't even work.. assuming the bulb had gone, perhaps that's why it wasn't cleaned properly - the toilet had a lump of poo in it, however, I needed the loo, so I flushed it after I had finished The kettle looked like it had stagnant water in and hadn't been cleaned, On looking for a duvet/pillow for myself for the sofa bed, we came across a spare pillow in the cabinet.. that was the last straw, it was absolutely filthy, with staining. We decided we couldn't stay, it clearly hadn't been cleaned between guests - the bed had been made but that's about it, so we left around an hour later and booked in elsewhere, I tried to find Matt to explain but didn't know where he was, there was no door to knock on, when we arrived Matt was stool on the gravel drive so I had no idea where he came from. I contacted him instead through booking.com to explain as I had no contact number for him. I have not had a proper reply from him, not a sorry just message saying 'i'll look into it' It's such as shame that I hadn't scrolled down and seen some of the poor reviews on booking.com that also had a cleanliness problem, I certainly wouldn't have booked this place.
