The property was extremely welcoming. You could tell everyone in the pub knew each other, and all of the staff were happily employed there and were looked after by their employer. Everyone was happy to chat to us - both the staff behind the bar and the people using the pub too. The pub was situated in a very quiet area, with the coast literally 30 seconds walk away. The room we stayed in had a huge comfortable bed and large wardrobe. The range of programmes on the TV in the room was also useful. We were concerned when we first arrived to learn we were staying above a pub as we weren’t aware of this before we went, but we didn’t hear a thing. The room was lovely and quiet.

We found the pub quite difficult to find as it is not well signposted. The shower in our room was an old electric shower and the water pressure was extremely weak. The lighting in our room was quite low and it was quite a dark room.

Good location for the breakfast and the quality of the food was mixed (My wife thought her's was excellent but mine was mised ). The service was good but the one staff member serving ( believed to be the owner ) was inexperienced and clearly stretched but was friendly and as efficient.

The pub / restaurant premises need to be upgraded. There were ceiling lights that were not working properly and blinked and could easil7y be fixed / replaced. Entering the bar from the restaurant is confusing not knowing where the office starts and the restaurant ends. The food in the restaurant in the evening was only passible with insufficient choice and was not really good value for money. Staff at bar and restaurant were good and tried their best. Liked the beer though. Some of the cutlery and tea pot not sufficient clean at breakfast. Excellent grounds and room buy why such as small TV in a poor position?

Large comfortable bedroom. Great location on the main road so easy to find and to park. Highlight was the breakfast. Wide choice of cooked breakfast, all delicious.

The spa bath gave out black bits when you turned it on. Coming in from the street, there was nowhere to leave your muddy walking boots and we were shown straight up to our room across white carpets.

Very clean, plenty of room and had everything we needed. Space for 2 cars and close to the centre. I would definitely stay here again.

Just the room was very hot and stuffy although a fan was provided it didn’t really help. A ceiling fan would be much better.

It is an old building which adds charm but being on the road side of the building can be noisy as the windows are old and characteristic.

We had requested a twin room . On arrival we were told none available but staff would see if one could be found but the bed was big enough - unfortunately is wasn’t and resulted in one of us having to sleep on the floor as it was late we couldn’t ask to be moved . Also sound proofing between rooms was non existent so you could hear all movement from above and adjacent rooms .
