Perfect location for those who visit Durham for conferences at the University campus as well as for tourism. Nice room, the Victoria Inn pub on the ground floor is nice for drinks (if your room is on the first floor you'll hear some talks and laughter, especially during the weekends, but pubs in the UK close rather early so that was not an issue for me).

the sink in the bathroom is very small with a planchet hanging above which makes it very difficult to wash your face, as you have to bend your neck at an odd angle. Don't expect the range of toilet articles that you may get in regular hotels, such as a shower caps, etc.

Brilliant location. The house is decorated to a very high standard. It has everything you need; fully fitted kitchen, 2 full sitting rooms with homely furniture. Beds really comfy. The gardens are maintained to a high standard. We've stayed in and around Minehead multiple times and this house is by far the nicest. Roll on our next stay here!

Heating was not up to scratch . The rooms were cold on arrival and unfortunately it was windy and the windows were a bit drafty. It was only 7 degrees outside , dropping to 2 degrees overnight. Unfortunately the heating was set to go on to low overnight . Supplemental oil radiators were only provided for 2 of our 4 rooms .

Went down to breakfast at approx 8.30 and had to run the gauntlet of chambermaids changing rooms and using the lift. Made us feel uncomfortable about staying as long as we wished.

Shower was cold on all mornings I could hear the guy next door using the toilet,as in urinating ,whilst I was in bed I could tell where he came from in the world,when he used the phone ,because the walls were not soundproofed
