Beautiful country hotel set in a rural situation with it's own grounds, lake and golf course. We were in the new Bunker rooms which are in a relatively new building over the Bunker Bar / Clubhouse for the golf course. Superb huge room with lovely built in shower, plenty of room in the bathroom and not at all crampt. Dining room staff were excellent, really chatty, nothing was a problem for them and they couldn't do enough for you. Brilliant breakfast. Ideal base for exploring North Yorkshire. Within easy distance of Grassington, Skipton, Settle, Thirsk, Hemsley and York. Beautiful boutique style décor in the main part of the hotel, fantastic bar with outside area. Don't eat in the hotel, walk out the back road to the Aldwark Inn or take the road into Alne and eat at the Bluebell Country Inn. the food is superb in both and quality.

Dinner on the first night in the main dining room. Very expensive for what we had and unfortunately I had to send my chicken back as it was gelatinous, pink in bits and I was unable to cut it. It was barely cooked. Our server, a young gentleman (unfortunately I didn't get his name) was an absolute star! Even when the chef sent a snarky message back to me through him. The food is trying to be high end but unfortunately isn't quite there. I've eaten in a fair few restaurants around the world so have a bit of experience and sadly, that night the food wasn't living up to the menu description.

Me and my friend stayed at Magnolia House for 2 nights and everything was perfect. The house is located very close to the train station and to the city center. Javed, the host, and his staff are really nice people, friendly, kind and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable (pillows and mattress are amazing!), same for the bathroom with a big shower box. The entire house is eco-sustainable. Breakfast was just something else! You can help yourself with several fruit juices, tea, coffe, home-made yogurt (addicting!!!), bread, cereals, home-made marmalade, fruits and so on, while they will cook you what you can choose from their amazing menu. Dogs are welcome! Highly recommended! Definitely a 10 star option if you stay in lovely Rye!

Tamara was so lovely, came to meet us to handover our keys! She showed us around the rooms and was very accommodating! The rooms were very clean and location was brilliant. We would definitely book here again when travelling to Blackpool. Thank you for a brilliant stay!

The room was very comfortable, clean bed, linen, with a good, easily mastered shower. Noise from the bar was much less than we expected from the very convenient location.

We asked for a quiet room and got a groundfloor one giving straight onto the street. The tea/coffee offering was fairly basic.

Two bedrooms, both en suite. Convenient parking. And for Pizza West, a local restaurant. Internet was included although on Booking.com it said it wasn’t.

The fact we had to pay a non-refundable damage deposit of £25. Why wasn’t the property covered for such insurance? Never had to pay this before ever. Booking.com said it was £250 fully refundable, but that wasn’t true either, as £10 was kept back. It felt like sharp practice. The bathroom door knob dropped off, in fact it looked like to screws had never been in the flimsy door. The description on booking.com said there was a terrace, a garden view and a patio. Only one of those was true: there was a patron with table and chairs, but no garden view and it was hardly a terrace. I know that notes were available about how to use the facilities, but they are not always convenient if your phone battery is dead. A set of notes in the house, especially using the tv, would have been helpful.

No staff to meet me and advise how to park and get to my room. Window won't shut, and street noise was terrible could not sleep at all. Tried to sleep on the mini sofa in the lounge. Exit gate wouldn'twork had to find back door

It was very clean and the bed was comfortable.

The kitchen window did not completely close. You need to walk a long aisle before getting to the elevators. Only one elevator worked.

Nice location, setting and general ambience.

Needs a repaint inside and out. Changing room could do with a refresh - bit damp and tired looking. Room got a bit hot at night.
