Staff really friendly. The food was great at breakfast and we enjoyed being served. Evening meal was gorgeous too, really enjoyed our 2 night stay. The beer garden was good too. Overall lovely time.

What a super wee hoose in a fabulous location, we loved it! Very comfy bed, quality furnishings, and stunning walks from the doorstep. We had no transport, but New Border Taxis did us proud.

The hot water in the shower was a bit of a challenge. Perhaps provide instructions on how to use the system. Even then, our water was still too hot.

The owner of the van called me the evening before to ask us to delay our arrival for one day as he had other people in and they couldn't be moved. I explained to him that we work and our train tickets were non transferable. I suggested he found us another van for our first night. He agreed to this and we arrived and found his cleaner Lisa who was fantastic. She lives on site and was very helpful and had found us a van next to hers. Although it was smaller than the one booked it would do us for one night. So on the next morning we saw the family move out of our van and Lisa said to us to go about our day and she would get to work on it. We came back about 6 pm, so 27 hours after our original check in time and Lisa informed us the van was still not upto scratch as the previous family had left it in such a mess. I called the owner and asked him what was going on. He said he would find out. He said he had tried to call Lisa and she was not answering. Little did he know that we was with Lisa who was working really hard in the van for us. I said to him not to blame Lisa and he became rude and threatened to cancel our holiday in his van. He was very rude and by this stage so had I. I couldn't get through to him that all of this was his fault and not his cleaners. They had purchased all brand new bedding, a new toilet seat and everything the previous family had ruined. Long story short we finally got in at 7.45pm. Lisa was still not happy with the standard of the clean, but we by this stage just wanted to unpack our cases and start our holiday properly. The van was adequate, not at all homely. The owner was rude and didn't care about us as a family or his cleaner. We will not be booking with him again.
