I recently stayed at Tanamara Guest House and had a wonderful experience! The 70s-themed decor is delightfully nostalgic, with vibrant colours and retro furnishings that transport you back in time, but with Modern facilities! Despite the vintage look, the comfort level was exceptional. The rooms were cosy and well-maintained, making for a very pleasant stay. Best of all, the price was very affordable, offering excellent value for money. Just a small tip: avoid getting on Chris, the owner's bad side and your stay will be smooth and enjoyable. I highly recommend it for a unique and comfortable getaway!

I believe Chris could be more understanding of guests, as some, like myself, may find first-time travel to the town stressful. It's important to maintain a cool and friendly demeanour, not be pedantic about customers' facial expressions or personal problems, which has nothing to do with Chris or the Establishment but rather a stress-filled day, if you can't be helpful to aid them, don't antagonise them, ie calling them out that they seem angry, and then try to be nice when damage is already done. Every interaction leaves a lasting impression on customers. A little kindness goes a long way in ensuring a positive experience at your establishment.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was small but comfortable, and nicely decorated. Complimentary drinks and snacks in the room were very welcoming. The food was very good - both the evening meal and the breakfast.

The showers made a loud noise and you could hear them from other rooms. There was a large family celebrating in the bar/restaurant, spread across several tables, and our dining table was in the middle of them. They were very loud and we could hardly hear ourselves talk whilst having our evening meal, which meant it wasn't very enjoyable for us. Even after we'd gone to bed, our room was unfortunately directly above them and they carried on until very late. Also, the smoking shelter was directly below our window, so we could hear people talking there too.

Excellent location, close to railway and places to eat. The apartment was lovely, very spacious and well appointed. So nice to find little extras provided like condiments, breakfast and milk. Wish we stayed longer.

Beautifully presented property, the hosts had thought of everything. Ice in the freezer, toiletries in the shower - we wanted for nothing. Great communication from the hosts also.

Do not make the same mistake as me. I never knew that the rooms without the windows is at all possible to book in booking.com, so I did not pay enough attention during booking. So, hotel looks fine, the rooms are probably more spacious than most in London, they are clean. But, do not book a room without the windows as it is in the basement...

Unfortunately not the hostels fault but the construction site next door starting up a 7 in the morning spoilt the peace
