My room was absolutely grotty and dirty as hell. The bins hadn’t been emptied upon arrival and the walls were dirty with marks and Splash Marks. The beds were half heartedly made and there was a disgusting long hair on the shower head discovered the next morning. The toilet seat was broken… I didn’t stay the second of my two night stay as it was just horrible. Shame… I’d stayed in the Campenile in Birmingham many times before and it’s been great…. This hotel was just grotty as!!!

I stay at this hotel for work when I have to go to head office, which is about 5/6 times a year. The staff are always extremely helpful, friendly and will make sure they help you out. Lady at breakfast even got some vegan sausages done for me which was brilliant.

The only slight negative I'd give is some of the floorboards are really squeaky and need fixing, both in the corridors and in this particular case, my room as well. But the overall facilities and service you get outweighs this slight negative. I will continue to stay here.

Beautiful old 1900's hotel. Our room was huge, overlooking the seafront. Plenty of wardrobe space etc. Very comfy bed. Loved it! Decent beer too 🙂 Perfect for our short visit.

Absolutely gorgeous decor, clean, cozy, romantic, amazing hot tub that was easy to use, netflix to watch in bed, overall wonderful and luxurious feel, will 100% be returning!

Poor communication from owner prior to arrival. Received a message at 14.27 on the day of arrival asking for £100 deposit to be be paid before details for key collection would be given. The house is pleasant but 'luxury' done on a tight budget. The standard of decoration is poor and the property was very unclean. We found suspicious tissues down the side of the four poster bed, toe nails clipping around another bed, a dirty bath towel left on top of the clothes rail in a bedroom and carpets un-hoovered in general with a large build up of fluff on the stairs, a build up of thick dust on top of the four poster frame, stained bed sheet in the four poster bedroom. There was only 1 bath and 1 hand towel per room and no tea towels in the kitchen. Empty bottles were left in bathroom (mentioned by a previous customer in a review) and most of the bulbs in lamps were not working. The boiler is in one of the bedrooms so one of our party had a hard time sleeping. Despite leaving the property cleaner than we found it, and treating everything with the upmost respect whilst there, the owner refused to return our deposit saying the hot water tap had 'come of' when the cleaners came in. Interestingly they could not produce any photographs and then said the next guests were in so they couldn't go back to take the photographs?? Booking.com customer service were excellent and resolved the matter - but beware!
