Location-wise, it forces you to walk along the river to the city centre which is a pleasant experience that allows you to see more of the city. As for the facility, room-wise, I would say not to expect too much in terms of looks but the completeness of what you need for a short stay is there (i.e., a decent bed, a simple make-up table, a small wardrobe, a kettle, WiFi, etc.). On the other hand, however, the toilet was very pleasant to use. The hosts were also very prompt in giving me details about my stay and helpful on the day of check-out when I had trouble returning the keys. Overall - good property for a short stay in York.

It was a very picturesque pub with a lovely garden which, as the weather was lovely, we enjoyed sitting in for lunch. We had a lovely meal in the bar that evening and a drink in the garden. Your breakfast choice was ordered the evening before and cooked fresh for you in the morning ready for your selected breakfast time. We had only booked for one night but liked the place so much enquired about staying another night. Andy was very helpful and found another room for us, so we stayed for two nights.

We had booked a compact double but as it was such warm weather the room was hot at night, so we needed the window fully open. The road was noisier than we expected so our sleep was a bit disturbed. The room they found for our next night was at the rear of the property and was much quieter.

The 6 person room was 2 bedrooms with double beds, then we were given a single fold out bed that only fit one person with a single duvet, so one person ended up sleeping on the sofa. Sleeping on the futon was so uncomfortable that I slept on the floor instead. It would have been lovely as a 4 person room, definitely not for 6. It was very hot and stuffy in the apartment as it had no windows that opened and no air conditioning. We were only given one roll of toilet paper for 6 people for 2 nights which obviously ran out very quickly!

We are in a family room and the beds were too close to the wall, so difficult to get out so had to tslide down to bottom of bed to get out the beds were also very creaky. . Our bathroom had an awful smell from it. The walls were paper thin. It was so hot, the bathroom had someone else hair all over floor and on bath and shower.

So where do I start!!! Family night away for husband birthday first night away this year!! On the Thursday before I arrived I got a message from the B&B telling me they are having some work done on the building. So scaffolding is up! So didn’t have time to change the B&B (bank holiday weekend) left it till last minute to notify us. Fab see view covered with scaffolding. No parking available, no breakfast and no reception on after 4 we arrived at 6 as coming after work. So had to go and collect our keys at another hotel as soon as we arrived. This property should not have been open to public. Room absolutely boiling too, main bed not breathable either. Blinds in rooms didn’t close properly leaving big gaps down sides and only nets in the bathroom. So when you wake up at 8am and builders walking past your window can see you in bed. The builders were shouting, swearing and playing loud music. No privacy whatsoever, not a happy customer. Still trying to get in touch with a manager now. I’ve rang 3 times 3 different people. No call back!
