This accommodation is in an excellent location. The staff whom we checked in with were polite and informative. Going up to our rooms; the stairs are well lit. We were put in rooms near each other as per my enquiry, and they also gave us rooms close to the first floor (as one guest has slight mobility issues and the other has sight loss). The 2 bedrooms; 1 facing the street and 1 at the back of the building, had ensuites which were very clean, a nice touch to have shower gel and shampoo and there was a hair dryer provided. Towels were clean and a non-slip mat for shower was a bonus. The drink making facilities were adequate. Pleased to see an iron and ironing board neatly stowed in the wardrobe. There was a TV, but we didn't use it. We were given a card with free Wi-Fi code if we wanted to use it .

Being picky... The steep stairs carpet is a bit worse for wear and one set of stairs only has half a banister. The room décor is a little out dated. Although clothes hanging space is provided, my long dress wouldn't fit.

I haven't rated the WiFi because we did not bother to use it. The room was very quiet, very well decorated, tastefuly styled. The bathroom was very good indeed, the bed extremely comfortable. We slept like babies. Next morning the included breakfast was the best we'd had in a hotel, a straightforward full English breakfast but perfectly cooked. They offered extra toast and extra coffee. We couldn't fault the service or the quality of the breakfast, even the breakfast room, which was in the style of a conservatory, was tastefully styled and welcoming.

The only small quibble was that the TV wasn't working which we assume was because the batteries in the remote needed changing, but we really didn't care about that as we were not there for TV and we didn't feel inclined to comolain as everything else was excellent.

Perfect location to walk to a number of restaurants, castle and Tram Breakfast was served at a lovely restaurant across the road with a good selection to choose from

The location isn’t bad and the pub had a deal of burguer + fries + beer for 10£ very good.

The worst were the bathrooms. Only 3 in the whole hostel, too few. Bathroom always flooded because of the shower, bathroom and toilets together so if someone is showering (and someone always is), you can’t go. They were also dirty, poor ventilation. Too many people in a small room, beds uncomfortable, nowhere to get dress because of the few bathrooms. A lot of older men, they were always making noises and shaking the beds, weird vibes. Was expecting a lot better for this price range. Don’t recommend.

The water completely stopped working mid shower, and the gentleman on the desk didn't really offer us a fantastic service, nor was there a plan to resolve it. We just had to wait. No apology, no token gesture.
