Beautiful garden and lovely historic building. The rooms were very clean, and the bed was comfortable. I felt safe during my stay. The service from the ladies was very nice, though the gentlemen were quite stiff in their manner, and there was a long wait for everything.

Some things in the rooms need minor renovations, which are quick and inexpensive to do, so I'm surprised they haven't been fixed (e.g., a torn part of the window, a door that doesn't close properly letting corridor light into the room at night, peeling wallpaper, and moldy/dirty silicone in the bathroom). There were no vegan options for breakfast. A buffet would have been better; instead, there were only about four options to choose from, which had to be ordered from the staff. You also couldn't make your own coffee or tea and had to order those as well. Overall, I didn't appreciate the stuffy atmosphere of the place, but I understand that it's part of their philosophy.

No staff to speak of bit received a text morning of explaining how to get the key for the room etc. Room was relatively clean, ok for a night's stay.

Lock to the door was dodgy and didn't feel comfortable leaving valuables behind when we went out. Basically felt like student digs. Looked OK on the surface but started noticing little things like: the water in the bath would not stop dripping; no cold water tap working in the bathroom; floor tiles did not quite reach the wall; the walls left paint residue on bags and coats; no hooks for coats; heating was broken and would not turn off so was like an absolute furnace all night; no frosted covering over the bathroom window.

Rooms need sound proofing could hear everything down to next door using the toilet Rooms were a-bit dated bathrooms need redoing.black Mold around the bath and all round the bathroom floor all the grout needs to be replaced .cocktails at the bad were awful .think our room must of been located above the kitchen or staff area as both night of Ill stay could hear banging and tap to at least two in the morning

Our bathroom light was on when we entered the room. The toilet had clearly not been cleaned. Hand towel had been used and was scrunched up on the towel rail. We reported this as we had to leave for an appointment. someone came and cleaned the toilet. It was only when we returned late at night that we noticed black hairs in the sink. Although staff were pleasant we did not receive an apology and no one expressed any dismay or surprise. We didn't use the shower or towels. We raised this at checkout and were told someone would be in touch. 5 days on we are still waiting.
