We stayed two nights at the Globe. It is an authentic pub and has 7 rooms. The rooms are very comfortably furnished and the beds are extremely comfortable. The food was fantastic and the staff very friendly and helpful. It was a wonderful start to our cycling tour in Scotland.

The lack of running water and/ or brown running water for the length of my stay! Part of the hotel had a maintenance issue ongoing, which left some rooms with no water or very dirty running water for the full extent of my two nights stay. Offer of using a different rooms shower was the only solution offered. Apologies from desk staff but no goodwill gesture, discount, no option to move to a room with running water... Its an expensive hotel in the Isle of Man, ensuite is hardly an unreasonable expectation particularly when paying for it, and not to deliver on this should have been treated with more customer care. Room sound proofing is also poor.

Great location right by the harbour and our room had a sea view!

Only slight downer was that our room was cold when we got there, but I put the radiator on and we went for a walk up the village. On our return the room was comfortably warm.

small rooms, many of them in the cellar, with extremely small bathrooms. You have to sneak through a passage of 40 cm to get to the toilet. The hotel has 200 beds but only 34 seats in the breakfast room. Hot food you have to order and wait for it up to 15 minutes. There’s a long queue before the breakfast room. You can easily wait 30 or more minutes to get seated. There’s no possibility to pay cash at the bar or at the reception desk. The hallways and rooms are endlessly twisted. It’s a confusing labyrinth. By no means a four star hotel.
