We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Red Lion and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the warm and friendly staff who made us all feel right at home. The location of the hotel couldn’t be better – it’s nestled in the heart of Lacock, with easy access to all the attractions. One of the highlights of our stay was the delicious food offered at the hotel’s restaurant. All our meals were excellent, and I especially loved the freshly cooked breakfast made to order. It was the perfect way to start each day of exploration. The rooms were impeccably clean and welcoming, providing a cozy retreat after a day of sightseeing. Overall, my stay at the Red Lion exceeded all expectations, thanks to the amazing staff, fantastic location, and delicious food. I can’t wait to return!

Mattress was a little uncomfortable as we do not have a sprung mattress at home.

A real oasis in the heart of the East End. Bedrooms were very comfy and warm and breakfast had a great choice. The old building is beautiful and some of the rooms could be used just to sit quietly and read etc if they weren't being used by groups on retreat. The main sittng room had a lovely fire and was so peaceful. Reception staff can sell you drinks including wine and there are other snacks on sale too. The chapel is another lovely space and guests can attend daily services if they want to. The grounds are lovely with seating and tables and the Yurt (community cafe) in the neighbouring grounds do great coffees and cakes. Best cheesecake I've had in years. I would definitely stay again and prices were very reasonable for the quality of the surroundings.

It might feel different if you were surrounded by groups - I was lucky that there were no large groups on that particular Sunday night.

It had its own entrance. We could still get out the front by going through the main hallway. The sofa was essential. It had a flame fire. It had a good sized bathroom with bath. The wi-fi was excellent. The bed was comfy. Lovely towel swans, very welcoming. Parking permits provided. Parking very close.

The hanging ceiling lights, my poor husband kept banging his head. The bathroom was cold. We didn’t use the kitchen apart from the kettle so can’t comment on those facilities apart from they were very clean although the corkscrew didn’t work but the owners are going to replace it.
