This is our second visit and just as superb as the first.Polite ,helpful staff, upgraded our original room as there was a noisy function taking place that night.Secure parking is excellent and good value at £22 overnight.Very clean hotel from reception to rooms. Extremely comfortable beds and pillows, just what we needed after a very wet day in London.Would highly recommend The Clayton Hotel and will definitely be returning, extremely good value for money.Thank you for a most enjoyable stay and top marks for on-line check in and out.Easy ,hassle free .

Everything was satisfactory

Our stay at this modern smart hotel was a delight. The rooms were beautifully designed with all the modern amenities, including a kitchenette and a comfy bed. What made it even better was the pet-friendly policy, making it easy to have our dog with us. The staff were lovely and accommodating.

I liked that it is right by the River and a short walk into the town centre.

Even though we went down for breakfast just before 7:45am (started at 7:30am), had to wait for eggs, bacon & pancake machine not working for the kids.

Nice pub, good grub, staff and location. Spacious room, cracking breakfast.

The price was good. The room was clean. The breakfast was good.
Negative section of review
The bed was fairly uncomfortable but worst of all was the traffic noise from the motorway. Even with the window closed the drone was unmistakable and with the window open sleep would be impossible in my opinion. The bathroom sealant around the floor had been applied messily which gave concern about other maintenance quality. I was one of only 2 diners in the restaurant and the only one at breakfast so the staff were using part of the restaurant for other duties (ironing sheets).

Very nice bedroom room with everything i needed.

I was not able to access the breakfast room on either of the days i went due to the very long queue which didn't seem to be moving at all. Disappointing. The carpet outside my room was dirty and was not cleaned at all o the 3 nights I was there.

Parking was good...

The bedroom was small and needed TLC. The bathroom was in a poor state - the radiator was leaking and the extractor was off the ceiling. The breakfast was really poor - my partner had eggs and avocado on toast that looked disgusting (she didn't eat it). For £170 a night, it wasn't acceptable.
