Positive section of review
The shower was excellent, but the water did splash outside of the shower cubicle onto the floor. There was a nice selection of biscuits. The beds (there were four beds in our room) were all presented well. We were asked what time we would like breakfast in the morning (between 7am - 10am)....but she didn't know what type of breakfast was available.

Ridiculously difficult to find. Car park (which is not signed as a car park for the establishment) area filled with rubbish (they need to get a large "Biffa" bin and put everything in that to smarten it up. On check-in I informed the young lady behind the bar that I had been trying to get in contact to say we would be arriving a day late - I send two emails and tried to call...every number I tried said I had dialled an incorrect number - the young lady informed me their phone is down. She said i would need to sort out payment/refund with the manager, but I had already paid in full for the two nights and was not entitled nor did I expect a refund. To get to the room we had to go up metal steps outside (which she warned us could be slippery when wet) we had to go through the rubbish tip of the car park to get to the steps. She struggled to get the key in the door to our room - we later struggled to get it in to lock and unlock the room. The curtains were hanging off the rods at the window so you had to be very careful when closing them. (My own fault for not checking), but there was no hairdryer in the room - this is a standard provision in the smallest of establishments usually. As it happened, we received a call while we were out at the function we were attending that meant we had to travel home urgently. As it was about midnight by the time we got back to the hotel from our function, there was nobody available to speak to or inform what was going on. There was no contact number for anyone provided or bell to ring or anything. We therefore had to leave our door unlocked with the key in the room, and a note scribbled on the back of a piece of paper I had managed to find in my bag to explain what had happened and why we had left.
Positive section of review
Great location for Lego lane and the Harry Potter Studios, the room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The food was good, breakfast was lovely and fresh each morning. Minimal noise even when there was a wedding on one of the nights we stayed.
Negative section of review
Our room had been changed with no notice prior to arrival from a suite to connecting rooms which wasn’t ideal with 3 young children, no reason was given for the change but we were given a slight reduction in rate. Service on the restaurant was very slow, each night took on the region of two hours to have a starter and main which wasn’t ideal with tired children, on our last night we gave up on our dessert which the waitress then delivers to the room, which was kind.

It was a pleasant ocean view and a convenient location. The owners were very nice people . They went out of their way to personally deliver some forgotten items to our next accommodation in Newquay.

Didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment on that but if it was up to the high standard of the hotel I would assume it was excellent! Friendly staff and room was lovely. Pretty outside seating area.
