The location by the river was excellent. The food was good and the dining area was nicely presented. The staff were welcoming and helpful in the restaurant. We liked the upper garden with sunset views of the river. There was plenty of outside seating and parking space.

Our room was a bit tired looking and in need of updating (e.g. replace the carpet with wood or laminate for a cleaner surface). The bathroom had a fumey, rubbery smell. No-one offered to help carry our cases up the stairs. We kept the windows closed as advised but it was very hot and airless - insect screens on the windows would enable guests to open the windows whilst keeping insects out (a queen hornet was trying to get into the roof while we were there). The double bed was uncomfortable - it was small and had a concave shape which made us feel like we’d fall out. As non dog people we found the idea of dogs having been in the room a bit offputting. We didn’t like having to pay extra for parking. The total price with breakfast and parking was only £7 less than a luxury hotel we stayed at the night before in the Cotswolds where we had a spa bath and king size bed.

Stayed here on a Saturday night; the hotel is right on the strip, so there was a fair amount of noise that went on into the early hours. Not ideal if you're a light sleeper. Also, our toilet was separate from the bathroom. Very odd.
