Comfy bed. The room was large and the bathroom was good but not excellent. The property would benefit from some updating but no doubt this would be too much for the current owners to undertake and it would probably be much more expensive if it were to be updated. The owner was very pleasant and answered any questions I had. The wifi was good, the water was hot and The experience was one of a very comfortable stay. Loads of parking area. The garden was huge but not really used and not much made of this area which is a shame.

Shower hose a bit too short to fit into the bracket.

Really gorgeous house, perfect for all of us. Plenty of bathrooms, lots of space and location just perfect - close to the town, the railway and the beach. It was the loveliest place we've ever stayed in. The beds were comfy, and the agent called us to check we were happy with everything. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The penwig hotel has lovely, spotless rooms, with comfortable beds and good bathrooms, the staff were excellent and helpful, we bought breakfast and evening meal in the pub which were both delicious and excellent value, can recommend the penwig

Everything was spot on, no parking but a car park nearby which was only £6.60 for 24 hours

This was our 4th visit! The staff are always friendly and helpful. The food is excellent and great value for money. They are very dog friendly so our dog had a lovely stay too! We will be back.

Most things - the friendly welcome; the location; the lovely comfortable bed; the powerful shower and premium toiletries; the free parking; and the price.

Breakfast at 10.50 a person is a bit steep - we had breakfast the first time we stayed and the food was very nice, but the coffee wasn't the best. We found a cafe round the corner that is cheaper, has lots of choice and really good coffee. Some decaf options on the hospitality tray would also be nice. These things would not prevent us from staying - it's still our first choice when we visit Wolverhampton.

Every aspect of the stay was superb except the food

The menu was fairly limted but made worse by lack of availability. Pride in the home made pies was trailed in the blurb but one of theses was never available during the four times we had dinner there and on one other occasion two were 'off'. The one I had which was a steak and stilton version lacked the stilton. On our last night the steak was 'off' in addition to the pies. Vegetables were tasteless and likely locally sourced from Tesco half a mile away, Fish of the day was always sea bass and soup of the day was always leek and potato (the latter delicious, the former not so). A real shame as breakfasts were totally up to scratch. Altogether unlikely to inspire us to return or recommend that others should do so.

First observations were the entrance was filthy, rubbish , dogends etc Bar was dirty, sticky tops, damp sour smell. One nice staff doing everything, one horrible surly and ignored everyone. Food was a disgrace. Poor quality , tasteless frozen veg. Bed was clean but not comfortable. No working tv, coat hangers, filthy carpet, broken toilet seat, loose taps, poor water pressure, filthy mouldy shower cubicle . At £280 for 2 nights it’s outrageous. Rate didn’t include Breakfast. This used to be an excellent establishment but I believe under new management. Should be closed down in my opinion.
