Beautiful apartment, “cabin“ might be the architecturally correct term, but it was certainly more than that: Spacious, with enclosed court/garden area, winter garden; bathtub comfortable for two; living room with stove - it lit immediately well and added a warm and romantic flair. Surprise: the breakfast “invitation“, i. e. eggs, butter, strawberry jam and milk in the fridge, and bread. Thank you so much, Sarah! We slept very well, the bedding is of high quality and the mattress was perfect for us. It was very quiet. For dinner: In 15 minutes walking distance there is a nice pub, the Turfcutters. Friendly people, good dinner. We will certainly come back if we are in the area again.

A problem we solved, but important to know for all other guests: This booking platform removes attachments and links in the communication thread, so if Sarah mentions an ”attachment”, make sure you get it on some other way. The name sign on the entrance of the property is different from the name Pear Tree Cabin, the location this booking platform displays is WRONG (there is just a parking lot) and not even the GPS data this platform publishes are correct. - This is no criticism to our hosts who did everything to make our stay enjoyable, but a problem of the agency.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Dorstan House during my trip to Edinburgh, and it exceeded all expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the exceptional hospitality provided by the friendly host Richard. The delicious breakfast served each morning in the room by Richard himself had options to suit every taste - the perfect way to start the day before heading out to explore the city. I stayed in one of the budget rooms, which offered excellent value for money. Although the private bathroom was located outside the room, it was impeccably clean and easily accessible.

Car could be parked outside property but availability hit and miss due other residents using space too. But dedicated space a bit further down drive requiring a bit of a climb to property. Spotless and roomy. Very well designed layout with all rooms on same level. Elevated with sea views. A bit of a hilly walk to-from town about 15 mins. For us very enjoyable and scenic.

Wonderful communication from a truly fantastic host. I have already booked up with Karen for next year. Harbour View, is bright and airy, spacious, well equipped and has thee most comfortable bed in the world!! I don't think I could recommend this gem of a place enough!!

Beautiful hotel and spa. Staff are amazing! Japanese restaurant is unbelievable! We actually got upgraded to a hot tub room as it was a birthday! So very grateful, can’t wait to be back!

Restaurant dinner menu was mediocre. Advertised as ‘a grill’, it hardly matched any local pub menu, more expensive, and mostly microwaved. Very disappointing. Rooms seem tired, and our bathroom was grubby (walls in and around the bath area hadn’t been cleaned for some time).
