It is centrally located. The woman running the restaurant was great, very friendly and helpful. The young man behind the bar was the same. We had dinner, which was very good. However, breakfast was just OK. Most of it was cold. Note that the woman running restaurant night before was not there.

The room was just somewhere to sleep. Tea and coffee supplied but no milk, no spoons, just 2 cups, not even a saucer for them. Again, young man in the bar found some milk. The bathroom had shampoo , and it was it no hand soap.

Clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Came for the Bruce concert in Sunderland and information on transport etc had been prepared in advance.

The hotel is very nicely decorated and has very friendly staff. The location is good. There are a number of good restaurants in the direction of Leith Walk.

I had a room at the very top of the building. The stairs were a challenge all the way up, especially with luggage. Thankfully, the staff helped with luggage. The TV in the room did not work, which did not get resolved during my stay. There is no safe or fridge in the room. The windows only opened very slightly, so getting air into the room was very slow. Overall, the hotel is nice, but at 200 British Pounds a night, I would have expected more value for money.

No cleaning of room for 7 days unless you paid a fee. Did get clean towels but it does not look good when told to dump dirty towels outside door.

The heating didn’t work in my room and even though I informed the staff, nothing was done about it. There was a loose panel propped up under the sink in the bathroom covering a hole and the wardrobe doors were hanging off. This hotel had been refurbished fairly recently but it didn’t feel like it
