Really loved the suites, they were very clean, spacious, walking distance to cafes, bars, restaurants. The interiors of the suites are beautiful. The communication with them was seamless and very prompt. They were super helpful in storing our bags before check-in time and super prompt on replying to msges. Would highly recommend staying here. The only thing we missed in the room were whisky glasses (considering we were in the land of whisky)

Fantastic experience, staying in such an amazing old Inn. Loved seeing the seagull with her 3 chicks on the roof right outside the window of our double room. The single room was atmospheric, with its old black timbers.

Nightmare driving round the inner ringroad 5 times, using Google maps, to try to find it. They could have given better instructions. The receptionist was friendly but there was no way to call her when she was not behind the desk. I had to wander around and one of the people drinking in the courtyard asked me if I needed help, then fetched her. I was asking for more milk as there were only 2 little cartons in our room. It could have been inconvenient having no electric sockets, eg for a phone charger. The light above the washbasin didn't work. MAIN PROBLEM - it was the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept on. I like a firm bed, but I could feel all the mattress springs, like lying on a metal grid, plus a very uncomfortable little plastic rod was attached to the top of the mattress, just under my hips. If they can't afford new mattresses, surely they could at least provide a padded mattress cover.

The property was situated close to the hospital where my wife's terminally ill father was staying. This was the only positive.
Negative section of review
To give some context, my wife and sister has just arrived in UK from NZ, as they were visiting their terminally ill father. The door lock broke when my wife left the building; it took several people half an hour to access the property by breaking the door itself, as my wife and her sister's luggage was trapped inside. The fridge didn't work, the property hadn't been cleaned from the previous guests, and the garden looked like a rubbish tip. This is the worst property and experience on Booking.com we have ever experienced. I would like to send photographs to Booking.com, as proof of this property's poor condition.

Nice beer garden/ courtyard area. Could order food downstairs. Decor in room was nice.

Ordered and paid for a cappuccino (coffee machine present) was given an instant coffee with froth on top :( The whole place smelt very bad. The stairwell was a different smell to the corridor and the room had been recently painted and the fumes in there were very strong. Some of the staff were friendly but there was no real attempt at any customer service.

The swimming pool has shut down and did not get informed when booking and on the website still says its open, kids entertainment is poor, the shop shuts quite early. No park for the children and nothing to do onsite for the kids. When we arrived, before we could do anything we had to wash up everything as it was left dirty and greasy, the plates had food still on them, the utensils had food still stuck to them, when we opened the fridge water came out of it from the freezer compartment as it had defrosted and the smell was disgusting, when we arrived there is a book where people have wrote in and a few have said the same. The bedroom drawers in one of the bedrooms is broke and can't use. In the bathroom there is mould around the bath which has not been treated.

Not a dislike just a little niggle that the air con didn’t work and room got a bit warm. We did mention it to the lady on reception and she said it would be taken care off.
