We have stayed at the Crown Inn for the last 3 years and always look forward to it as my son attempts to qualify for The Open through regional qualifying at Minchinhampton golf club. However, this year means that we will look to stay elsewhere next year.

Not the usual greeting. We said when we arrived that we wouldn't require breakfast as we had to leave at 6am and enquired whether we could have a reduction on our room rate. I was told we couldn't which then wasn't supported by a reason why I couldn't. The prices on the dinner menu, we were expecting, as we had experienced before, a really good meal, but it was very disappointing. £18.00 for a bowl of fish stew sounded great, but I would have been upset paying half that amount for what I received. We complained about room 3 having no hot water. This was tested and I was basically told I was wrong. Well at 5am the next morning, I still had the same problem, with the tech on the shower saying it knew of a hot water problem. There is nothing worse than having a cold shower at 5am in the morning. I paid my bill after dinner as requested, because we were checking out early. I then received a call to say that they had miscalculated the amount and could I return to reception to pay more. This meant, I had to get dressed again to return to reception. All in all, a really disappointing stay.......in fact half way through the evening, I asked whether there had been a change in ownership because of the difference in everything. Apparently, not.

My only issue that the exact location of the property (when trying to locate where it is) is not very well visible with a number 23 on the property. I walk passed it several times and even to owner of the property next door did not know where 23 was
