Great stay at the Pigsty! Very well equipped and fantastic views. We can highly recommend. The bed was very comfortable and despite some cooler temperatures, the cottage was very warm with central heating and a log burner. It's about a ten minute drive into Ashbourne with plenty of shops and eateries. A great base for exploring the Derbyshire Dales.

This was a real find! Fantastic hosts and fabulous breakfast. Really well placed location to explore Anstruther and surrounding areas on foot. Lovely room, spotless and well equipped with everything you could need. Our only mistake was not staying longer. Thanks Rob and Catriona - Hope to see you soon

Very clean and tidy hotel, with lovely rooms overlooking the beach. Beds were very comfy. Great staff who looked after us, and I can't fault them. Mini bar in the rooms was not overly pricey for their contents. Short walk to town.

Dropping the car off on double yellow lines outside the hotel was OK, but you have to contend with varying amounts of traffic on the road whilst you sort your bags out etc. The staff park your car in a nearby car park, which was fine, and we had no issues. Parking is £10 per night. Only continental breakfast is included in the price of your room. You have to pay more for a cooked breakfast, which is £10 per person. Wooden slatted blinds in the rooms rather than possibly having blackout curtains. Not an issue for some people I'm sure. Afternoon tea was nice, but you can get better value for money if you shop around.

It is curious that this pub claims to be a "Bed and Breakfast", but in fact offers no breakfast! The room was well equipped and comfortable.

The shower and water pressure weren't good, and there was no lock or chain on the inside of the door. Also, maybe I missed it in the description, but there is no lift, I was on the top floor and had to go to the basement for the breakfast room

Close to road so hear traffic through the night. Not very well sign posted. We drove past it 4 times before realising where it was.
