We stayed at Ellen house for five days, the breakfast choice was incredible, nothing was too much trouble , Anne was the perfect hostess and John was an incredible cook. the extra touches in the room made it special too, homemade flapjacks , lovely toiletries , beautiful soft white towels, plenty of supplies to make your own drinks. everywhere was immaculately clean . Our room had a door that opened onto the garden so watching the birds feed and sing in the morning was wonderful

Location is great. Easy access to Ambleside and Windermere. Parking right out front of the lodge. The holiday park has a shop and other facilities on site. The living area is very nice and the kitchen is has pretty much everything you need. Communication with the owner was very good and the security deposit was returned promptly after the stay.

If you need reliable interent this is probably the major downside. Max speed is about 10Mbps but this seems to be a shared connection so in the evening speeds plummet to new dial up levels (100-500kbps). This unfortunately meant we couldn't really take advantage of the smart TV in the evenings which was a real shame as we had planned on watching some films on Netflix. Phone signal is also spotty on both mine and my partners networks (Vodafone and EE). If this is not something you need in a stay then please ignore but for us it definitely knocked a point or so off the experience.

Lovely staff, very attentive and friendly. The rooms were of a high standard, modern decor, very clean and the bed was comfortable. We had our evening meal and breakfast there which were both very good and service was efficient. Location was great for trains and buses. Would highly recommend.

I stayed in a brand new studio, which was pretty large with a sizable kitchen and bathroom. The bed was really good, the staff very nice and the location off the charts. I enjoyed staying at Rockwell East and will go back one day.

Beautiful house with lovely features and great facilities. We all had a lovely cosy stay. It was also ideally positioned for friends travelling by train and it allowed us to go on a lovely walk at Windsor Great Park.

I’m afraid some of the utensils (mostly the knives) were not very sharp and we found it quite difficult to cut things up when making food. But it was otherwise a lovely a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need for cooking and baking!

The staff were helpful and friendly and its perfect if going on the SWCP. The downstairs decor is lovely and the location is great for walking.

The bathrooms were tiny and the bedrooms were very small and a little tatty which was disappointing. The breakfast was nice but very greasy.
