The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.

When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

The selfcatering cottage was very comfortable and well equipped, and the owner had left a bottle of milk in the fridge and supplied coffee and tea (ground coffee, too) biscuits and some breakfast cereals to tide over. Very good hearty meals in the inn, and a view over to the milecastle to tempt you to explore the wall.

This is a friendly hotel with a good location to the centre of Cambridge. The bed was very comfortable and the cooked breakfast tasty. This is a wonderful Victorian building. We would have loved to know more about its history.

The bar does not open until 18.00 and so to get a coffee or an afternoon drink you need to go elsewhere. This was a shame as we would have liked to enjoy the hotel itself more on our return from the city before getting ready to go out for the evening. I appreciate there may not be the demand for this. We, instead, nipped across the way to buy hot drinks from the park and brought back to enjoy in the bar area. Not being able to buy water in the hotel was also a problem for us.

Great location, the room was a little dated or quirky but clean and comfortable. Luke, the manager was excellent and very helpful and friendly, didn't eat at the pub so can't comment on the food.

Very welcoming, presentable, clean and cosy. Amazing views from the garden and stunning sunset view from the top of the hill.

Bedside lights were a little too bright and the bed a little on the narrow side but could not fault the comfort.

Breakfast was an issue. We were asked to attend one of three timings for breakfast. We chose the later time. It appears that the food is consumed at the earlier timings and then en no new food is cooked! Go early or go without .

Style and location. Staff very friendly and helpful

This is no fault of the hotel. We were there in April and 3 drunk men decided to have a sweaty conversation below our 1st floor windows for 2 hours plus. It was annoying as my elderly mother needs an afternoon snooze
