Excellent location, comfy king size bed, stylish bar/restaurant with stunning views, tea/coffee/cookies replenished every day. Nice dessert and card in room on arrival for husbands birthday. Lovely powerful shower. Would definitely come back.

Lovely historic Inn with character. Very clean and comfortable and easy walk to Grasmere village. Plenty of parking.

Room could do with an extra bedside table. And a chair or another little table to put your belongings/suitcase on. Some hooks in the bathroom for towels would be helpful too.

Missing from the room: Shampoo, toilet brush, glasses for water The shower was not contained so water went all over the floor which became very slippery as it had a cheap vinyl sheet fitted. There was a constant noise from a loud humming generator/fan nearby Breakfast was poor. We were told it was “continental” but the choices were very limited. Disappointing not to have the option of a cooked breakfast given the cost of the stay. There was no proper coffee available., just a jar of Nescafé with a dessert spoon in it and a water boiler with not very hot water! Service was very poor - they had run out of glasses for the fruit juice and when I asked for another I was told that they were in the dishwasher! I had to use a coffee cup.
