The hotel Normandie is in a great location very close to the beach.Our room was very clean and the housekeeping daily was very good.Just a few tweaks to update would make it one notch up.The staff were very pleasant and the breakfast was excellent,with lots of choice of hot and cold food.The pool area was warm and relaxing with a spa pool.The number 1 bus stops outside the hotel and it takes you into st helier and then you can transfer on very easily with an easy to navigate bus station.All in all an excellent holiday and we would definitely return to the Normandie good value for money.

Just small tweaks in the bedroom ie 2 blown uPVC windows, paper needed sticking back in places on the ceiling and behind the toilet was rusty just needed painting.

The people running Central Backpackers are really sweet and understanding (in my case very understanding). The bunk bed I had in the mixed room was good, with a curtain to maintain some privacy, and with a power socket to charge phone etc. Also good are the spacious lockers within the room, and if you forget your padlock, as I did, they sell a really good one. The kitchen facilities are 100% good.

The public area is like a waiting room, with a TV blaring sports most of the time. Not much natural light. The bathrooms could pay more attention to women's needs. The location is desolate, but that's not the hostel's fault.

Very cosy cottage with lovely garden to sit out in overlooking Loch Long. Close to Loch Lomond also.

The corridor leading to the room had flooring ripped off and the wooden planks had nails sticking out of them, it was a hazard. TV had no channels on and was unable to connect to the WiFi. No instruction card in the room mentioning about the amenities available or how to connect to the internet. Wardrobe had no rod to hang the clothes. I liaised with the owner, who promised to fix it next day, but never heard back from anyone! Had to use chairs to hang my clothes, not ideal.
