Not a lot. I booked based on an experience of the 'old' Angel of 30 years ago when I used to stay quite often but the institution has fallen into disrepair is in need of a massive refurb and the breakfast felt somewhere between an old folks home and a transport cafe. The staff tried their best but are fighting a losing battle.

There was a warm welcome from the bar lady that showed us to our room. As the accommodation is above the bar it was very easy to just go downstairs for an evening drink before eating in the restaurant next door. Lots of tea and coffee sachets supplied and more availablein the hallway.

Although there are 2 pillows per person they are very flat so barely the thickness of even one pillow each. No pillow protectors either so not hygienic. No double glazing so lots of noise from the road during the day but it was fine during the night when the traffic eased. We had the on suite room and the shower tray filled with water even with a quick shower. No hair dryer available.

I liked the location. Excellent. Near the tube and train stations and bus stops. The room was small but quite nice. The wait staff in the restaurant were excellent and dinner were reasonable.

Lovely helpful staff and our ròom was spotless.It is in a lovely location next to a nice green park and plenty of shops, including an Aldi, but the street is not too busy at all.

Rooms and public spaces were good clean and well planned out. Breakfast was very good as were the staff.

Our bedroom room 343 was far too hot. I turned to radiator off but the testing did not seem to reduce. I reported the fault to reception who assured me that a maintenance engineer would attend and sort it out. Saturday was a relatively wam day so when we returned the room was comparatively cool. During the night the radiator came on again despite it being shown on frost setting. Again as a result for the second night running we had a very poor sleep because of the temperature.

I payed for a view of the river and big Ben etc and we were given a room facing the other hotels with a partial view of the river not great considering how much we paid.

We booked with the idea that we would be able to make use of the restaurant at this hotel only to find that it was shut for the duration of our stay. Consequently, our plans had to change to accomodate finding an evening meal on both nights that we were there. Our onward journey also meant an early departure and we didn't feel inclined to put the hotel to the test for breakfast!

It was a construction site. Lakeside tavern shut to holiday makers but open to owners only. The caravan was not maintained at all. Cupboards, door frames, window frames and furniture broken. The toilet brush and bowl was absolutely disgusting. We had steam rollers, tractors and vans going past our caravan every day. I was lied to by booking.com and Moffat manor and am not getting any refund whatsoever. We told Moffat manor about all this and nothing and booking.com aren’t doing anything about it either. Make sure you check the amount you’re paying for your pet as Moffat manor overcharge you.
