TLDR: Someone (seemingly a man) entered my room without permission to use the toilet whilst I was away. I complained but no one has been in touch to see who had entered or why (was not a cleaner). I am waiting on a reply to a serious complaint but I STILL have heard nothing from the manager and yet I keep getting emails asking for a review so here we go! I picked this hotel because it was close to an underground which is 4 stops from Paddington and wasn't too bad a walk to Royal Albert Hall (25 mins). I paid a good price and didn't expect much and was pleasantly surprised to find the room had a double bed, was a reasonable size and had a newly renovated bathroom. I slept well the first night but I wear ear plugs and so was not woken by the building works that were happening in the hotel. I went out for a visit to the Design museum, returned watched some TV (via mirror screening as TV didn't actually work). Then started to get ready for evening. This was my first time opening the door to bathroom upon which I immediately noticed someone had used the toilet. The hotel operates a sustainability policy whereby if you request for your room NOT to be cleaned you get a free drink, fine by me so I left the sign on the door. When I entered the room it clearly had not been cleaned and I noticed no other disturbance until I opened the door and found the toilet seat completely up (see picture). As a woman I have no need to do this and I felt immediately sick that someone had entered my room for seemingly no reason and with no prior warning and used the toilet. I complained to staff and they said they would investigate. I went out came back and asked the night staff but they knew nothing of it. I slept with stuff shoved up against the door and checked out in the morning. No one could tell me who had been in the room or why! They said a manager would be in touch once they had investigated but I have still not heard anything.
