The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.
2
When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

It was immaculately clean and very spacious. It was well equipped with everything we needed and more! I walk with difficulty using crutches or a mobility scooter. I found the hand rail up the steps to the property invaluable. They were rock solid and provided all the stability and support I needed. If you are a person with mobility difficulties it may be useful to know that, as with most granite steps, they are a little uneven. The apartment, however, I found very easy to navigate. We would definitely book it again.

Staff member who checked us in was amazing! He was able to check us in early (10am) with short notice! Security and other staff were always friendly and prompt to greet us when leaving and returning to the property. Always clean and very modern. Room was exactly as stated in the description on Booking.com. The shampoo and body wash provided in rooms smelt lovely and were eco friendly. The USB ports for charging devices above the bed were super convenient. Super happy with our short stay!!

A lovely old country inn surrounded by beautiful countryside and away from the main towns of Stroud and Cirencester. All the staff are excellent and very welcoming. A great choice of food and drink and reasonably priced. Superb breakfast and dinner and well kept real ales. The accommodation was very comfortable.

We stayed on an unrefurbished room, basin was badly cracked and a brown colour. There were brown bits in the kettle, it had not been washed out well from previous guests.Disappointing.

The location in Ely suited where we wanted to be. The garden looked nice but due to the weather we were unable to explore it further.

The exterior of the building looks unkempt and unappealing which is a bad start when you arrive after a long day. The booking in process was brief and uninformative. We had booked for an evening meal but this was not confirmed as the proprietor said the email was not working so we had to make our own arrangements. The Lounge was dark and cold and uninviting with the drapes/curtains looking well past their best. The room that we had been allotted was uninspiring to say the least!! The bag stand which was placed just inside the door made it tricky to get yourself and your bags inside. The on-suite did not have a wash basin in it as it was in the bedroom which is not a very practical solution with some odd holders around the basin screwed to the wall which are not necessary or functional. Over the basin was a shaver/ light with a broken pull cord which had not been replaced but knotted back together. The toilet seat was broken, sliding to one side when used. The shower cubicle had a peeling base. The windows overlooking the garden had internal secondary glazing which were fogged and restricted what would have been a reasonable view and the curtains were worn and torn. The wall mounted TV was as small as a lap top. The breakfast, a Full English was not pleasant. Although the plate was very hot the food was not. Sausage was not cooked all the way through, the bacon was cremated and the baked beans and tomato were cold. The building itself is old and the insulation is clearly lacking as we could hear movement above us and around and also a dog barking. The dog was also allowed into the breakfast room. The standard of the building is outdated and not what we would have expected.

They take a £150 deposit up front, but there lots of damage to the hob, kitchen floor, missing knob on main kitchen wall cabinet etc, was worried we’d get the blame,( we got our deposit back). No sockets by one of the beds for charging your phone etc, the other room had an extension lead run around to the bed. No bedside lights. It’s not really equipped well for catering for yourself. Bathroom ceiling is cladded in plastic and is very grimey near the window with small flys stuck to it. It could be made so much nicer if they wanted to, but I guess the price we paid was reflected in the quality of the accommodation.

Being sent down to the sister hotel called Marine lodge Bad experience for us , we were sent down there as it’s her sister hotel as there was not another room . We did not have a nice welcome . We had to pay for breakfast , there was no main evening meal available , we were send down the pub . The shower did not work very well . The bathroom door would not shut tight , as the door needed to be planed of . The window was not closing well . The neighbours were loud throughout the night .,it was not an enjoyable experience at al and very expensive for m what it is . I would not go there again . We were told we would be given an upgrade but the room was small .,
