What a wonderful B&B was welcomed by Georgie on arrival who was very friendly and informative and showed us to our lovely room the room was beautifully clean and comfortable and the view from our room was stunning overlooking the lake. Breakfast was continental and had so much choice and all the produce was lovely and fresh. Clive the owner always made sure we had enough freshly brewed tea and coffee. The property also offers a wonderful lounge area and decking overlooking the lake. It’s the best B&B we have ever stayed in and there is absolutely nothing negative about this accommodation. Our room over looked the central courtyard, not a problem although reception implied we would be overlooking the car park so that was unexpected. However the courtyard has a nesting pair of oyster catchers which awoke us at 3.45am with their chirping, so we did not sleep well at all. I feel the hotel should have known this and avoided sending guests to that area of the hotel while they have nesting birds in that area.

Breakfast was a shambles and nothing like what we had experienced in previous visits. They have removed the cooking station so I asked the Chef for a fried egg, but was abruptly and rudely told that I had to order it at the Table even though no one had explained this or asked us if we needed an egg or an omelette etc. I managed to get a waitress' attention and ordered a Fried Egg but had to guestimate when this would be arriving in order to make toast and get everything else from the buffet. By the time I got everything I wanted my breakfast was stone cold, even the sausages and bacon straight from the buffet were stone cold, as was the egg which had cooled at the table while I was getting everything else. Not impressed at all and definitely not as good as previous visits.

Good location, two underground stations in the vicinity (one at 15min walk and the other at 5min). The property was clean overall. The fact that we shared the restrooms caused them not to be always tidy and clean but I can confirm that cleaning service personnel came regularly.

The room lacked some basic and ridiculously cheap furniture that could have helped making the stay more comfortable and pleasant. An example: a nightable with a table lamp!

It said Cardiff Central when I booked it but it is not walkable to either city centre or Cardiff Bay, I had to pay for taxis, location was terrible. To sit in sun was broken wooden tables hidden in a back corner for staff to smoke in, absolutely awful.

Everything was really dirty the water from the shower was boiling hot and i contacted the and nobody came to fix it, the pans where really rusty and burnt, at the night in special weekend was very noisy
