When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

I booked this for a friend so did not stay but visited the flat. It was very clean new furniture, and nicely decorated. I was very pleased with what I had booked. Feedback from my guest .. "it was excellent". I would highly recommend and definitely book this place again for visitors. Excellent location short walk to train station, shop cross the road, and close to the main road so very safe and good security. There is a lovely well high end pub Atlas on same street. I definitely give it 10 out of 10

Water was cold in shower first morning. It was quickly rectified in minutes by the Company as pressure was low on boiler, and something that I assume will be checked now in future before arrival so will not be a problem. The response to the query was fast and efficient. I cannot find any fault with this accommodation in fairness it exceeded my expectations.

A large comfortuble double bed, nicely laid out and imaculatly clean. you have a private entrance door stright off the front drive which has lots of space for parking. The hosts are a very friendly couple.

Having to leave after only three nights and return home.

Cosy little room, quite minimal, but all I needed for the one night in Edinburgh. Walking distance to Cameron Toll shopping centre and an easy bus ride to Edinburgh's Southside for evening meal.

Having a breakfast option would have been useful, but as there are plenty shops nearby it wasn't a dealbreaker.

The beds are like sleeping on clouds, I absolutely loved the theme they have with the doors, the hotel is very beautiful

No bath mat to stop from slipping in the shower

Good location. Many varied walks direct from property, flat and moorland or along canal to Skipton or near villages.

Owner needs to be informed if guests are from overseas. A previous reviewer from US and myself from NZ could not receive communications from owner or Sykes Cottages/Booking.com- re property keys.Owner said she did not reply to abroad phone calls. Hence called much stress because of pick up then put down of calls. Wooden sink bench needs replacing. Black rotten around tap and sink edges. Only one external door exit.Fire? No garden but described patio is around I metre direct road frontage. 'A tranquil escape' No-a rat run 0630-0900 and again 1500-1700 only a metre from cottage front. Unsuitable for young children as very steep stairs and NO outdoor space. A change of towels during our 8 day stay would have been helpful as nowhere to dry anything. I have previously lived in a cottage well over 200 years old and understand the quirks. Advice- take out some of badly painted overlarge furniture not needed.
