Fantastic location, close to all local amenities and attractions. Hotel was to a lovely, clean standard, with very helpful and friendly staff. Our room was also very clean and included plenty of complimentary tea/coffee and basic toiletries. The decor was beautiful, really in theme with the period building, but with a modern touch. The bed was very comfortable, with all bedding and towels being immaculate. Extra towels/pillows provided too, which was great. No noise issues whatsoever, even on a busy bank holiday weekend. Plenty of hot water, with fantastic water pressure for a lovely shower, unlike most busy hotels. We look forward to staying again!

The room was unbearably hot due to being unable to turn off heated towel rail in the bathroom. The window in the bathroom was painted shut and there was no extractor fan or ventilation to allow air to cool after a hot shower. Even with the room radiator off, the pipe work around the room remained extremely hot at all times, in turn, heating the room even further. The fan provided was definitely needed, but as the window in the room only opened a small amount (understandable due to regulations) and the bathroom window not opening at all, it just seemed to push warm air around and not actually cool it down. This was not a particularly warm weekend, so I can only assume it would be far worse during summer months. Overall, this made time spent in the room uncomfortable, which was a shame as we could not fault anything else about this hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We have not had this issue on previous bookings, so maybe just an issue that could be addressed in this particular room.

I was in a dormitorie, I requested a lower bunk bed for the night which is what was allocated to me. I was checked in late at night and was off early in the morning so really had no chance of taking in the view. What I was allocated suited my needs.
