Check in was swift and easy, car park at rear of hotel had plenty of space. All hotel staff I had dealings with were polite and helpful. Breakfast was good and bar prices were very fair.

The room was adequate but looking a little tired. The view from the rear of the hotel is not pleasant so if we stay again I would consider opting for a sea view.

The building and grounds are superb one of the best hotels I have stayed in. The quality of food in the restaurant for the evening meal and breakfast were excellent.

The shower/toilet in our room did not have a door. It is not just a matter of having some privacy when needed, but also if you get up in the night not having a door you can close means you will wake up your partner when turning on the light. The lighting in the shower/ toilet was inadequate for a man shaving. Need a light above/around the mirror. The service during the evening meal was a bit chaotic. Instead of having one person covering a group of tables we were served by a variety of people. Had to wait for twenty minutes for the bill, and then had to ask for it three times. When I received the bill it was incorrect. They undercharged us, so the bill had to be amended. The staff were friendly and helpful they just seemed inexperienced and badly organised.

I was given a room at the back which had no window in it only a glass door. I said this was not acceptable and they willingly changed it

food on the night i was there was only pizza. Disappointing because one of the reasons for booking was the menu on website. Pub ought to make it clear before booking that on a Thursday it was pizza only. The pizza was nice but not what I would have choosen

The only slight gripe from my wife was the position of the electric sockets at skirting board level which meant she was unable to plug in a hairdryer / straighteners. A very minor issue which did not spoil our stay.
