The pod was fantastic. Top quality with everything we needed for a relaxing break. We loved the swaying on the water and being able to watch the swans, ducks, birds,.and the changes in the weather while sitting on the sofa watching a movie.

Nothing, it was perfect.

The location is fantastic and the modern minimalist decor is very nice. The staff were also friendly and did respond to my concerns about my room very promptly by relocating me to a different room

First impressions were pretty poor because my room was incredibly small and windowless (I booked a double and there is no way 2 fully grown adults could comfortably use the room with luggage and coats etc). But then it got a whole lot worse. I was woken at midnight by an unbelievable commotion from the room directly above mine which sounded like a sumo wrestling match with stomping and sliding of suitcases from one side of the room to the other until about 4:30am. When I called the front desk to complain they advised me they had a late check in at midnight and they couldn’t do anything about the noise. It was hideous. I spoke to a manager the next day who immediately moved me to another room which was much nicer, larger, and generally quieter. While the room was definitely an improvement I did still notice a fair amount of noise from both the common stairs and the floor above - so sound insulation is undoubtedly an issue across the board.

Overall a very good property, very spacious comfortable rooms & kitchen was good. It deserves a better rating really but just a few things would improve it. Please see below.

Keybox to get front door key: after putting in the code there was a fiddly metal switch that you had to force down under pressure and wait before the door springs open, the switch was awkward to get at & slippery and kept springing up, so really tricky to do. Sorry but this was v stressful when you arrive tired (and no landlord there to help you). Also, the oven or hob ignition didn’t work and no matches. Lovely huge TV but remote a bit tricky, I found i player but not other channels eg itv or freeview. Maybe some printed basic instructions would be good please.

Location perfect for a walk to Terminal 2. Breakfast great. Staff efficient and friendly.

Only slight issue was duvet too warm. Would have liked a top sheet.

Restaurant/bar and outdoor area nice, food marginal. Facilities need some attention.

The area around the hotel kind of sketchy, not unsafe (we walked each evening) but lots of vacant buildings and kind of dirty.

Really good quality apartment. Very clean, well designed. Good location.

Ayr itself is quite shockingly run down in the town itself. I remember it being amazing when I was a kid. Beach, river and attractions remain great but a bit depressing to see a once vibrant town in such poor shape.

N/a location wasnt great and parking was a massive issue
Negative section of review
Insecure toilet seat, all noise from flat above in the night including footsteps banging, washing machine and dishwasher on after midnight so difficult to sleep. Tatty in places like pipes and fuse box exposed and some sockets not working. Overpriced for what it is and car parking was completely misleading in advertisement. Says free parking but this only applies from 6pm to 8.30 in the morning then there is no parking anywhere. No dining room table and chairs.

Nothing about this hotel was nice

- the toilet is so close to the side wall that you cannot comfortably sit on it. To do your number 2 business you have to sit diagonally because it's so tight. - the bathroom and room is so 1990s I remember having the same Armitage shanks sink installed in 1993! No lift Reception desk has a security grill or shutter down by 11pm Soap dispenser was empty Thinnest of pillows and uncomfortable bed No usb ports or electrical socket near the bed to charge a phone or laptop unlike Travelodge Window would not open and no Aircon Must I go on......? Cheap maybe but not comfortable.

The room was on the 7th floor. It was beyond hot in the hotel. The room was the smallest room I have ever stayed in. We hadn't the room to open our suitcase due to the size of the space. We paid £99 despite our arriving at 215am and leaving after roughly 8 hours, at 1030am. The room was below par and MASSIVELY overpriced. Won't book there again.
