My husband booked a room at the Star Hotel for our trip to London. We travelled to celebrate my birthday. Star Hotel is close to the Hammersmith Station, and there are various pubs, shops and places to eat. Hammersmith Station has 4 underground lines: Picadilly, district, circle and Hammersmith and city. Very easy to visit London. Just 10-15 minutes walk tonShepherd's Bush Market. The staff is very respectful and professional. Highlights to Claudinei and Lilian. We highly recommend anyone to book a room at the Star Hotel.

We liked everything. We just wished the room had a frigobar.

The room and en-suite was very clean. We had a nice view of the River Wye. The breakfast was freshly cooked to order, good ingredients and delicious. Dinner was very good, staff friendly and attentive, relaxed atmosphere. Plenty of seating in the grounds of the Hope and Anchor overlooking the river, outside bar serving drinks, ice-cream and snacks. Good walks from the pub.

The mattress springs were clunky and uncomfortable - could do with a new mattress! Quite a few stairs up and down to the room. The room and en-suite were on the small side.

No tea towels in the kitchen Couldn’t find any fans and it was a very hot weekend so would have been great to have these as bedrooms got hot in the night

There was one staff member that was extremely helpful on the third day of my stay.

The room was extremely cold, there was a damp smell in the room. I asked to change rooms and they were able to but it was no different and receptionist on Sunday was not very bothered about calling back about room change. She was quite rude and didn’t seem to be happy she was working on a Sunday.

Location great for a night out in Birmingham.

Breakfast was pretty disappointing, very basic and not worth pre paying for.

Location was perfect for us.

Bed not firm enough. Metal lever was sticking out of side of bed , and I hurt my ankle twice as it was covered by the undersheet Lighting in bathroom was awful!

Location was fine.

No hot water or shower mat so we couldn't have a shower or have a proper wash. Twin beds too close. Took a while to figure out how to switch the bathroom light on. Not enough shelves to put things on. Had to use the windowsill for my toiletry bag etc. Couldn't find out what time we had to check-out. No chef so they don't serve breakfast or any meal
