The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.
2
When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.
3
After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

This hotel is vile. The worst I have stayed at. The floor in our hotel room was damp so couldn’t take our shoes off without getting wet socks! The door onto the balcony is only locked with a small lock which my toddler could easily unlock. There were stains everywhere, cracks in the window, bathroom was all peeling, the noise from people walking up and down the stairs is so loud! Walls are paper thin. The balcony is so dangerous, the floor is made of very thin wood that is breaking away. The radiator in the bathroom has brown fluid leaking out of it. There were no towels. Complained to both the hotel and booking.com but haven’t received a good enough response! Do not stay at this hotel!! Especially with family!

This stay was not a good experience for us and we feel we can do better elsewhere. The hotel accepts dogs but I would not say it’s dog friendly. Dogs are not allowed in the rooftop bar…even the outside terrace. There is no real lobby…it’s tiny….you walk off the street right to the lifts. The floors in the rooms feel worn and a bit scruffy in areas and this affects the feel of the room for us. We are due back in London in 2 weeks time but we feel unable to return here. Rather a shame.

Location is fine

Lovely quiet location, the lodge had everything you could want for a self catering stay. Unfortunately could not enjoy the surroundings due to the weather but very comfortable and if I am staying in the area again will definitely look to stay here again

Staff very helpful although some were a little inexperienced with dinning etiquette. Room was exceptionally clean. I'm sure the staff were all doing their best which was appreciated.

Appreciate hotel is old but could do with some updating. Carpet quite dirty in some areas. We stayed 2 nights. Room was uncomfortably hot and no way to allow fresh air in. We used the restaurant for dinner. First night the food was a bit hit and miss. Quite a lot of items unavailable and food luke warm. Second night much better. The fish and chips were the best we have ever had. It is unfortunate that when the tide is out in the nearby river a very unpleasant odour fills the whole hotel including the restaurant.

It is tired and needing painted etc, but it was so beautiful didn’t detract from our stay. Will definitely be back.

This will have been our last Hilton stay… we simply cannot understand how this hotel is 4 star?! We have had far better experiences in 3 star hotels, and not even 3 star service was received during our stay here. The ‘icing on the cake’ was me trying a bite of a cold congealed fried egg at breakfast to find egg shells cracking in my mouth, I spat this out to show the employee overseeing breakfast and asked for a refund of breakfast since I now felt sick to eat anything (all the hot counter food was cold and hard, my croissant stale and the ‘stewed fruit’ on my yoghurt was in fact just defrosted frozen berry mix). We were not given a refund there and then but told to contact customer service. Upon arrival, service was sub-par (definitely not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel). There was no help offered with luggage, which is common courtesy in any hotel we have stayed. The room itself was ‘ok’: a decent size, clean although basic, but freezing with a draft coming through the window. Getting to the room upon arrival we had to step over dirty bedsheets and towels littering the corridors, although we arrived at stated check in time where you would expect the hotel to be ready for new arrival of guests. Laundry rooms and other storage cupboards were all open and messy… these were still open for access upon leaving! On the evening we visited the ‘spa’. I felt so uncomfortable walking on the dirty floor that felt like grit under my bare feet. I didn’t pack any sliders, since normally these aren’t allowed in spas for hygiene reasons and have always been provided with slippers/sliders by spa hotels during other stays of 3 stars, nevermind 4 stars. The atmosphere was far from a spa, which is meant to be relaxing. it felt more like a leisure centre, a gym overlooking the ‘spa’ with noise from people running on treadmills looking out to those in the pool, and kids coming after school for their swim session.
