An excellent location. CO-OP supermarket is within walking distance. There are restaurants and cafes located nearby. The hostel also has kitchen amenity to prepare your own food. Bus stop to other regions is within walking distance. Steve, the owner is exceptional. He is friendly and helpful. He would offer to give me a ride to Letterson whenever he is free. I cannot pay enough compliments to him. I would highly recommend this hostel. Its value for money. I will stay here again, THATS FOR SURE.

Location was great, really quiet and lovely scenery. The lady was very helpful and left many signs and a folder with instructions about pretty much everything. She had also sent directions before arrival as postcode stops before the property -make sure you read your texts. Room's bin was emptied every day. Spacious room with great view overall.

Had forgotten to pack shampoo and shower gel so I had to rely on the little sachets provided by the hotel. First day was ok, but noticed that these were not replenished, so I asked for them on the third day. The lady gave me a couple but she said that she doesn't replenish them normally, which I found strange. When I asked why, I was told that she just doesn't, so please remember to bring your own, or use hand soap. I have travelled a lot in the UK and abroad and this was the first time this happened to me. The same applied to the biscuits that normally come with the coffee and tea tray in the room. I didn't ask for those but it was disappointing nevertheless. Breakfast was a couple of Tesco's croissants in a Tupperware box outside the room, cereal portion in an also plastic container, a small glass of orange juice in the fridge (measured in a little glass bottle) and same for milk. Another plastic box contained some cut pieces of cheddar, dairy lea triangle and a couple of small hotel packaged portions of butter, jam and Nutella. Instant coffee and tea was with a kettle in the room (biscuits only on the first day though). No bread and no toaster. Also found the room cold at night, but bought a blanket as a souvenir and started using it. Didn't feel it was worth the price I paid, so I was a bit disappointed.

The property was clean and well equipped. It had everything you need for a weekend break or a long stay for work

There was an alarm on the wall that was going on constantly for 5 hours during the night from 2am onwards. After many calls to reception and no one answering I went down to reception. The man at reception came to my room and accused me of vaping or smoking in the room. Neither of which I do and would never dream of doing if we did, then I requested my money back as I was unable to sleep and was told that was not possible, the reception man began to shout so a female colleague of his took over. I have raised a complaint with the staff about the man at reception and the alarm keeping me up all night and was told a manager will call me at the end of the week. I am yet to receive a call from the manager. Also the coffee machine in the room was not working so we were unable to make coffee and had to wait for the restaurant to open to get coffee. They also took a holding deposit of £100 for the room for damages then explained to me once they had taken it that this would be refunded subject to no damages but can take up to 10 days to show back in your account. I’ve stayed in some very nice hotels and have never had to pay a damage deposit before. In my experience you are only charged damages to your card if you actually damage a room. Again, I have never damaged a room before so didn’t like this part either.

Full smelly bin outside my room from Saturday to Monday. Floors needed a good vacuum. I would have done it myself but no vacuum or brush available. Toiletries were supposed to be provided but apparently none were available. Shower curtain mouldy. Rooms not serviced daily.

Room wasn't clean and beds were so uncomfortable we couldn't sleep and there was dirty shoe prints on the sheets we had to sleep on. Worst hotel I've stayed in and I stay in a lot of them . Definitely not be recommending it to anyone.
