Very nice hotel. It had all you might need, including fridge, kettle, little snacks, a good TV, lovely staff. The room was comfortable and clean.

We had a room on the ground floor, the door that went out the back of the room to the outside was a little unexpected but it looked like the room had increased accessibility for wheelchair use, so not an issue just not expected.

We had a bit of a faff with getting proof of my identity to get in the property and I was worried that we wouldn’t be able to get in , but after it was sorted it was ok.

We were very disappointed and inconvenienced by the lack of a lift to our room. It does say on Booking.com for the (superior) room we were in that there is no lift – but what it DOESN'T say is that the room is on the fourth floor! This is an old Georgian building, with a double height ballroom on the first floor up, so while some of the so-called superior rooms are on that floor, the one we were in was on the fourth floor! To add to this, the bathroom was not properly finished, the breakfast was awful and the reception staff were unhelpful. Oh, by the way, the fire alarm went off at 06:30, triggered by a pack of cyclists.

There was a lot of confusion in taking payment, and I ended up paying twice for my stay, for which I have yet to be reimbursed despite promises from the staff to resolve this. The staff, on my visit of the 14 April, were very confused and did not know how to reimburse me for the double charging, and I am still awaiting reimbursement. Please advise how I can resolve this unacceptable situation Andrew Pantelli
