Our original plan for Isle of Skye was for a single night but with the cancellation of the Jacobite Train tour, we were forced to search for an accommodation for 2 nights. We had very few choices at a short notice. Sea Shimmer popped up as an option. But despite the fact that Sea Shimmer is 10 miles to the north west of Portree town centre, we decided to try our luck with this accommodation. Two days later we left Isle of Skye extremely satisfied and lots of pleasant memories. Needless to say that we regret not having more time to spend at Sea Shimmer. Our host Harish Davda was extremely helpful offering valuable tips about Isle of Skye and ensuring that our stay was as comfortable as possible. Our heartfelt thanks to our host for the courtesy extended to us. In future if we have an opportunity to visit Skye again, we'll surely look up this accommodation and time our visit when it is available. And yes, next time we intend to spend a little longer at Sea Shimmer.

Great location for the city Very comfortable bed, good tea & coffee options in room, staff were without exception very helpful even though it was quite busy..The coffee shop wax very comfortable & looked to have excellent food options even though I only had time for coffee

The hotel is excellent value for money. It was the perfect location for a hospital visit and breakfast was great. It's also right next to a train station.

Sharing a bathroom might be an inconvenience for some though it didn't bother me. I think this is reflected in the price.

The property is very old and poorly maintained. While my room was fairly clean, beetles were present throughout. Other areas of the property were not as clean, and the entrance, located at the back of the building, was also poorly maintained. The property constantly smelled of Thai food, and the owner was unresponsive to my concerns. I paid in full for the property a few days before arrival but have yet to receive an invoice from the owner despite multiple requests.
