How does it work?

  • 1

    It starts with a booking

    It starts with a booking

The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.

  • 2

    Followed by a trip

    Followed by a trip

When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

  • And finally, a review

    And finally, a review

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

The pool for the rooms and the main pool were kept clean and bug free. The evening restaurant food was lovely with a range of options, the Thai food was delicious but there were also more western options. The staff were fantastic - specifically a gentleman name William (a member of the bar staff) was exceptionally friendly and made our stay. Free shuttle bus that took you into the centre or to the market was really appreciated. Couldn’t recommend this hotel enough!”

Decor and living space fantastic in a beautiful old building. Location superb. Host very responsive If you want to self cater, there is a full, quality kitchen. Tea, coffee, milk, sugar and oj for guests. A coffee machine would be nice

    • Negative section of review

Not host's fault, but early construction works on street and general street noise during the night on the side street, impacted one bedroom in particular. Advised host's of work and he attended on site next morning.

  • Stunning Shepherd's Hut Retreat North Devon

Super tranquil spot, nestled in the Devon countryside. Beautifully designed little hut, super cosy, fantastic log burner. Hosts are so lovely and helpful, with fantastic communication! Really enjoyed our stay here.

    • Negative section of review

As there’s no wifi or mobile data (to be expected!) perhaps a basket with some games would be nice. We found the deck of cards but perhaps some more could be added. Also, this is not something that the hosts can do anything about, the lanes up to the site as quintessential tiny Devon lane but full of crater sized potholes, so just be mindful of what car you’re coming in!

Location was perfect. Village very close by with shops and venues for food. Pod itself was very well presented and came with everything required for a short stay. Owners where fantastic and catered for any needs.

    • Negative section of review

Wifi at the venue was hit and miss. Owner did warn us about it but it did not effect our stay in any way shape or form.

Location is great, van was clean and basic. It's in a beautiful place and the park is very clean and tidy. I was slightly worried about noise as it's opposite the playground but it was no problem at all.

Nothing major to be fair but a few things that would have made it better for our stay: No WIFI - CAVEAT - We DID know about this before we arrived not complaining about it but just a note to say that not having WIFI would probably stop us from booking again. Information As non caravanners it would have been useful to have some info on a table regarding how to get the hot water, use various appliances etc. We did find some booklets on a high up shelf and did eventually locate and turn on the boiler after one of us had taken a freezing cold shower. The information pack that was left out on a table was just telling us the Caravan Park rules. It would be useful to leave some info on the local areas such as places to eat nearby etc. Beds: single and double were comfy. 'sofa bed' in the main lounge area was 2 very long sofas in an L shape with no obvious means to convert into a bed, just lots of storage beneath the cushions. We assumed that the 'sofa bed' must just be 1 of the sofas doubling up as a bed. OK-ish for 1 person. Again, instructions would be useful to say if it does indeed 'convert' to a bed rather than 'double up as a bed'. Provisions: Very picky one this but it would have been nice for the tea/coffee canisters to have had a couple of teabags/some coffee for that first brew when you arrive.
