Positive section of review
No time for breakfast but had dinner on my first night, the restaurant was extremely busy so the staff were not able to give quick service, but were very nice when they got to me. As recommended by the reception desk I booked a share ride to the airport, (they said the Hoppa wasn’t reliable with times). The Man outside directing everyone (concierge?) was amazing, did a great job with many vehicles and was friendly and helpful.

The room was lovely, just the right size for what we needed. There was hot running water from the shower and complimentary tea and coffee in the room. The room was lovely and warm, although did get a bit hot at times, but then I’d rather have a warm room than a cold one. I enjoyed my stay here and would stay again. Excellent location.

The temperature of the room did get a little hot, even with the window open, if possible just needs dropping down a few degrees but I understand it’s not always possible with old buildings. This did not detract from my enjoyment of the hotel though.

Beautiful surroundings circled almost by the golfing area. Pleasant staff working hard, good service. Good atmosphere when golfers pop in the bar/restaurant to discuss their outcomes. Ate breakfast there which was good. Loads of parking.

Given room that we hadn't asked for. Then,'upgraded'to 215 which is a nightmare to find. Room filled with rickety tables, chairs and writing desk. No air con unable to open windows, but has ceiling fan plus two other traditional fans. Front of Hotel, allthough entrance has outside lamps, I don't think they were switched on making entry & exit tricky at night.

The property consists of a pub and several small cottages where the rooms are located. It is on the banks of the Thames. We ate at the pub and everything was delicious.

The only issue we had with the property was the mattress on the bed was a little old. Some of the springs were poking up a bit, especially around the edge. Nothing a mattress topper wouldn’t solve.
