The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.

When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

This was a fantastic retreat in the Lake District. It is an attached accommodation to the main house, but heard no noise at all. Great for a family with a large double room upstairs and a twin room downstairs. Very nice sitting room to relax in, play games, have tea, etc. It is surrounded by fields with several dozen sheep and amazing views of the region. Very clean, well appointed kitchen, and a short drive to Keswick (not walkable if you are getting groceries, etc).

No complaints - it was one of our favourite locations to stay on the whole trip.

Very comfortable and modern studio apt. A lot of attention to detail, nice little finishes. Private and quiet.

We were advised to take an Uber to get to the apt. It cost us £25! Even though it is about a 10 min drive, it did involve using the motorway so the distance was a little more than expected. We were not budgeting for that kind of expense … so it brought up the actual price we paid for the accommodation. Also the only ventilation in the apt were 2 sky windows and there is no AC. So we had to climb up to open the sky windows to get some airflow. Once we did that the room was a lot cooler and we slept comfortably. Not sure how that would work when it’s hot though.

The staff let us stay in the lounge area along with many other overbooked guests that had no room.

When we arrived at check-in there were about a dozen people in a queue and no rooms available, despite all having confirmed bookings like ourselves. After 10 minutes a staff member explained that Mercure's computer system had crashed around 9.00pm. All confirmed bookings after that were worthless. Other people continued to arrive after us to be given the same message.

bit of a mix up with getting the key but in the end all went very well.

Only thing that I liked was that the staff was friendly and polite

For once the king size bed was very uncomfortable to sleep on and noticed that it was 2 single beds joined together, the price of drinks was expensive and the meal that me and my partner got was small portions, plus it wasn't warm enough the time it was put on the table and the meal that we got for lunch was cold so not worth the money, I got a dirty glass know got cold sores from bottom of my lip, why have a gym in the hotel and not have a jacuzzi or pool area and outside back is a non smoking area it should be a actually smoking area.
