The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.
2
When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.
3
After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

Breakfast was very good as was the service. The room was very small and next to the hotel dustbins which were overflowing. Would have liked to open a window but the bins made it unpleasant to do so. The room smelled of cooking. The room was not cleaned during our three night stay and there was nowhere to hung the bath towels to dry. I did not realise this would be the case before booking the room. We ate in the hotel one night and the food was good. The purpose for our stay was to visit family nearby we chose it because it was described as “ refurbished boutique hotel with emphasis on comfort and relaxation” we found it to be a pub for bikers and walkers, with rooms, not at all how it is described.

Very comfortable and clean. Facilities in the room were excellent and allowed us to be able to prepare our meals in the room. Great supermarket 10 minutes away. Very helpful staff. Bus stop close by for easy access to central Oxford.

The staff were very accommodating, the whole set up of the bar and reception was brilliant. Rooms were ideal and just really enjoyed the stay there.

The location is fantastic, the nest thing about this hotel. The beds were very low which is good for my toddler. The room was very clean.

The entrance really did smell so bad, very off putting. We expected a few stairs after reading reviews but to our room (not on the very top floor) there were around 30 very deep stairs. The room itself was absolutely boiling, there were two radiators both on, but I couldn't turn the temperature down on the one as it had nothing to adjust it. Check in said from 2pm, so we arrived at 2.05pm and no one was there. I had a message on my phone asking what time we would arrive so I text the back, messaged on booking.com and phones the number about 5 times and was ignored at every occasion. After waiting almost half an hour outside the hotel, someone arrived to let us in. When we wanted to check out, I also text the phone number to see what time someone would be at reception to hand back the keys and my message was again ignored and we had to just go back to the hotel and check. We then had to give £20 deposit for the key, when I asked for a receipt for proof of this, I was refused. The keys to get into the front door and the room were really tricky and awkward to use. Even though the location was amazing, I would never stay here again.

The canal side is a really nice location. The beer garden is a comfortable place to sit down in the evening.

The flooring was old and looked dirty. Surfaces around the building were sticky. Not just the bar area where drinks may overflow, but push plates on doors and tables.
