Positive section of review
Wonderful location, so close to the lakes and to town but located down less than ten minutes of picturesque country lanes (with plenty of passing points). The bedroom was spacious and the bed was ginormous! Shower had plenty of room, and the huge mirror in the bathroom was fitted with large lights like a glamorous mirror in a movie. Breakfast was gorgeous and plentiful, good portion sizes. Breakfast is included in price! Don't be like me and only come down for brekky on the final day, not realising I didn't have to pay extra for it! The Stairs and hallways are super wide so no trouble carrying wide/heavy luggage up and down them.

There was nowhere to hang clothes other than the back of the main door and the back of the bathroom door, so as someone with loads of outfits I was stumped with where to lay them out and prepare them. Also the hair dryer in the bathroom cut out after less than a minute of use and wouldn't start up again.

Location was perfect as we were visiting Wakehurst Gardens which was only 2 miles down the road. Parking on site was ideal and convenient, the pub served very good food, great choice of main meals and the breakfast menu catered for all. The room was overlooking the garden which was lovely particularly as we were so blessed with good weather too. Tea/coffee making facilities in the room with fresh milk ideal for making those all important cuppas.

Some of the bedroom decor could have been updated although the room was very clean and the host made sure we had everything as soon as we arrived. The shower needed a bit of attention but for one night it was fine and they supplied toiletries.

Nice hotel, just wish they would have told us that all the roads in and around Bristol were closed due to the marathon so we had to park elsewhere and walk 10 mins to the hotel.

Above, the roads closed and not informed by the hotel. Also one of the lifts didnt work so had to walk 10 floors down on a number of occasions due to lifts.

Was very neat, comfortable and quiet. Found it hard figuring out the locking mechanism because there was nobody on ground and the process was automated

Clean rooms, recent conversion, kitchen facilities good, towels provided. Shower pressure awesome. Short walk to town centre. Bed nicely firm.

Very small, especially the bathroom/toilet, almost not enough room to close the door when on the loo. No toilet roll holder. No shelf of any kind in shower. One bedroom the only access to the bed is from one end; fine if you're young and fit, but could be a problem for older folk. Flashing lights on smoke and CO detector disturbed my elderly parents' sleep.

The prices of drinks and food was a bit steep but need more food choice has well but other than that things was good.
