This review is long overdue, but better late than never, right? So I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel. It was very central, which I liked so I could get around whenever I felt like it without any problems. And it was also close to restaurants and stores so I wouldn’t have to go very far to get to a store or a restaurant. So that’s also something that I loved about this place. I also loved that I had a nice view over (or almost over) a garden/park across the street. The bed was comfortable and it was very clean. My room was small and cozy, just the way I like it and it had everything I needed (which was a bed to sleep in, a bathroom and a wardrobe). Plus the staff was very friendly. Would recommend to anyone visiting London, since it is very central and easy to get to wherever you want to go during your stay there.

There was no air conditioning in my room, but I had my window open whenever I was in my room so that wasn’t a too big of a problem for me.

Lewis' arrival briefing was thorough and exactly what we required for our stay - great. He was welcoming and informative. Breakfasts were good. Easy to use public buses into and out of Edinburgh - host provided good information on the bus system

Host met us at door to greet us with keys. Very pleasant host. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast was continental, good selection of cereals, breads, fruits, hams cheeses to choose from along with hot drinks and juices. Dining room very nice.

Floor mat on entry not secure on laminate flooring, twice it slipped under foot. Bottom of shower panel hanging off, I put back in place. Approx 2 inch gap in laminate floor between floor and door full of dust, muck and small stones. On ceiling in two corners were cobwebs, one containing a daddy long legs. So very very hot in room, could not adjust or turn off radiator so had to have window and door open till late in evening to let some heat out. Shower kept going hot and cold not a consistent temperature so constantly adjusting during having a shower. Lots of noise from vehicles driving past directly outside my room.

The bed was comfortable and the host, Deidre, seemed to be very nice. There was cereal in the room and options for tea.

Overall, I felt unsafe 1. The door latch was broken so I was unable to close the door and there was no lock. I had to push a chair against the door to feel secure. I found a door stopper for the second night to help with this. 2. On my first night, Deidre mentioned that there would be extra people staying. I then heard 2 male voices who ended up staying for hours drinking with Deidre. And I’m not saying this is wrong, but if I have no way to feel secure in my room then it does cause a very sleepless night on my part 3. Unfortunately, Deidre had fallen asleep so I was unable to locate the house initially on check in. 4. It was extremely dirty, both in the room and in the rest of the house; unwashed dishes, crisps on the floor from previous tenants, sodden rose petals left in the bathtub for 2 days, clothes on the kitchen floor which rendered it unusable, despite encouragement to cook, questionable cleanliness of sheets and towels. 5. There was a single pane glass door out to the balcony with no curtain or covering, so it let in quite the breeze and morning light (not as big a deal as I was out early).
