Slight issue when checking in, Shane, deputy manager, was excellent, bent over backwards to assist. Jackie and another guy (didn’t get his name) were superb behind the bar efficient and very friendly. Breakfast the first morning was with ‘Ren’ working (almost) alone and yet still nothing was too much trouble, catered to our every need. Other mornings it was Trish, affectionately known as ‘Scatty’ again, superb service could not fault the hotel or any of the staff. Many thanks for a wonderful stay x

Lovely hotel right in the heart of the city . Stayed there with my young son for the brighton game . We had a lovely double room with a double bed and a single bed . Good aircon. Nice food & good service . Very friendly front of house staff . The young lady reassuring my young son that he could wear his Brighton top without any concerns . Very clean hotel & we found everyone we met in Newcastle hospitable & friendly . We hope to be back next season .

The house was absolutely beautiful and spotlessly clean. Everything we needed was supplied by our wonderful host, Jill, who was very welcoming and provided a superb breakfast. Spotting alpaca and donkeys in the fields behind the house was both a surprise and a bonus for us “Townies”, in addition to the warm greetings received from Jill’s small, very well behaved dogs.

I thought for £15 there would be a buffet breakfast and more choice of cereal, fruit etc. I had the continental and as I don't eat bread there was little else. I did ask for croissants but they didn't have any . The waiter kindly brought some small pastries A bus party had just been in for breakfast which depleted the choice of availability

The lodge needs maintenance. Furniture and fittings need a deep clean.
