The cottage was very clean and the bed was very spacious and comfortable. We loved the woodburner, and the kitchen was well equipped. The garden was a bonus for hanging out washing.

Room size was ok and it was practical having a restaurant there. Breakfast included.

The bathroom was not particularly clean. Walls were paper thin so we could hear the conversations next door and the dog staying there making noise. The bed wheels weren't locked into place so it kept sliding away from the wall. Check-in time was a 3 hour window which feels quite unreasonable. The biggest disappointment was how inattentive the staff were. We were excited to try the restaurant and ordered a ribeye done medium that came well done, it was solid gray inside and a waste of a great cut. I ordered halloumi fries and specified that it was for our toddler and I doubt they communicated it to the kitchen as it arrived doused in hot chili sauce so he couldn't eat it. The waiters didn't visit the table again after serving the food. We weren't asked how the meal was nor if we wanted another drink. The only reason we didn't walk the steak to the bar ourselves was because we had a toddler with us who was past his bedtime so we didn't have time to reorder (our order of pan fried seabass and a medium ribeye took 50 minutes!). For an AA rosette winner to mess up a steak so badly is shocking. Even when we paid (had to walk up to the bar for that of course as we couldn't get the staff's attention) they still didn't ask how the meal was. It wasn't particularly busy, they just really didn't care. For breakfast we sat down at our table and again, no one communicated if we need to ask for the pre-ordered food or when it will arrive. They also forgot the part of the pre-order that was for our child so we couldn't all eat as a family once again. Unfortunately, the stay here soured our holiday and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
