WE were celebrating my birthday and the staff made my birthday so very special. The bed had towels made into swans with lots and lots of red petals and a tray of cakes and chocolates and a birthday card. It was beautiful. The room was spotless as was the whole hotel. A beautiful room. The food was excellent both breakfast and dinner. The swimming pool was lovely the water was so so warm you didn't want to get out. The evening meal was very special and as my dessert was brought it had a candle in and Olga the waitress singing Happy Birthday. Many thanks to all the wonderful staff who made my birthday very special. We will return.

The room was small but they had made enough of the space for us to be comfortable for two nights. The bathroom was great, enough space and places to put our things. The decor of the hotel was charming and made it feel unique, some great little details throughout. The location is excellent for getting in and out of Oxford. Breakfast was very good, tasty and plentiful.

The stay was for my husband's milestone birthday. Despite noting this in my correspondence, which staff read and replied to, I was disappointed that the hotel did not acknowledge it in any way during our stay. I had read in other reviews that the hotel had done something for other guests for special occasions, so I felt let down. The room was very warm, and it was difficult to let air in through the window shutters without also letting in the light.

Location was beautiful. Staff were delightful. Rooms seemed to be recently refurbished and were clean and adequate.

Reception area was distinctly scruffy and not clean. Breakfast was described as a “Highland Feast” but was rather lacking in choice and quantity.

Finding the property was a small challenge (why not have a sign clearly saying the Coach House?). Access created some anxiety and the small detail of finding a full bin and other guests leftovers in the fridge somewhat unpleasant (and we couldn’t find any bin bags)

The flat was clean and comfy. The kitchen was well equipped and the views amazing.

The towels were a bit small. I like a big bath sheet towel. A teapot and a cafetiere would have been nice additions. Also an umbrella for a little shade outside would also have been handy.
