We went down for breakfast and were allocated a small table. At no time did anyone come and clear the table of cereal packets, etc even when delivering more food. I got the impression that the staff had a "not my job" attitude. The previous night at dinner we had to go and find a staff member to place our order as no one came near our table for a long time. The restaurant clearly needs a good supervisor.

The hotel appears to have been extended a number of times over the years resulting in a labyrinth of rooms and passageways. We had to lug our bags up and down the stairs and through long passageways till we finally reached our ground floor room, which coincidentally was opposite where we had parked the car about 3metres away. On leaving I asked if one of the ground floor doors could be unlocked to save us the return journey through the labyrinth, but the request was declined ("we've got a function on'). No aircon and no fridge in the room. Wouldn't want to be in the place in a fire. You would never find you way out in smoke and the fire doors appeared to have cable ties on (hopefully easy to break). Our ground floor windows appeared to have locking cables to prevent entry from outside. Great for security, less good for fire.

The property has good parking and the rooms are spacious. Nice clean bathroom and excellent facilities. Safe in the room if needed and a nice feel to the place. The food was outstanding. I had the scallops starter and the mussels for my main course and they were delicious. The staff were friendly and accommodating and what more can I say. We will be going back. Lovely people lovely place to visit.

Bathroom was absolutely lovely- really nice bath with a big waterfall tap and TV above bath, mood lighting. Bed was really comfy. We didn't have a sea view but it was still a nice view. Room had a fridge, safe, plenty of space.

My partner booked this at the last minute. I was sleeping rough in sidmouth. It was cold and I had just arrived without any sleeping bags. It was a nice place to stay. In 2022 mother took us here for my birthday

Amazing room which was decorated nicely and perfectly clean. The bath in the room was a definite highlight. Robes and toiletries in the room. The pub itself is very nice, good food and nice garden.
